Every year 20’000 patients are getting a kidney transplantation because of diabetes. Only 10% are receiving an additional transplantation curing diabetes. Our technology addresses this unmet medical need by improving current islet cell transplantation. This is achieved by aggregating cells in highly sophisticated microvessels. But current tooling does not meet our quality criteria for human use. In this project we will engineer a new tooling method to meet these criteria and begin a human trial.
